Book Authors:

Guy de Maupassant

Henri René Albert Guy de Maupassant was a popular 19th-century Gallic author. He is one of the male parents of the modern short narrative. A protege of Flaubert, Maupassant 's short narratives are characterized by their economic system of manner and their efficient effortless dénouement. He besides wrote six short novels. A figure of his narratives frequently denote the futility of war and the guiltless civilians who get crushed in it - many are set during the Franco-Prussian War of the 1870s.

I picked it up for The Horla, and I was a small dissatisfactory in that narrative ( it might merit 3 stars, but it gets 2 because I was unhappy with it ) . Overall I truly enjoyed his work.
