Book description:

Fresh from a brief stay at a psych hospital, reporter Camille Preaker faces a troubling assignment: she must return to her tiny hometown to cover the murders of two preteen girls. For years, Camille has hardly spoken to her neurotic, hypochondriac mother or to the half-sister she barely knows, a beautiful thirteen-year-old with an eerie grip on the town. Now, installed in her old bedroom in her family's Victorian mansion, Camille finds herself identifying with the young victims—a bit too strongly. Dogged by her own demons, she must unravel the psychological puzzle of her own past if she wants to get the story—and survive this homecoming.

Sharp Objects Essay

Better than gone miss! I could n't set the book down, stayed up manner past my bedtime to complete it and it even had a turn I had n't expected! Great book, decidedly recommend. Why? Listened to this 1 at the gym. Love the turns and bends as with all Flynn 's books though as ever left with a cliffhanger at the terminal. Still many waies that could be explored, but left untasted. Twisted. The characters were interesting. Ugh, why did I complete this book? The biggest job I had was Flynn 's composing about person with obvious emotional troubles from such an nescient point of position. The writer impressed me as excessively superficial to hold on the sort of mind and life which consequences in such self injury. Her film editing was treated as an accoutrement, merely more force added to the whole suffering heap. Description of little town life is on point! Her characters ideas and behaviours keep you thinking and 2nd guesswork! Twisted read I do n't see myself peculiarly astute at foretelling secret plans but it was so obvious from the first chapters that this book is decidedly a girl for me. This kept me gripped and 2nd thinking the stoping throughout Highly recommend to anyone who likes a new tist every page. More like 3.5. I thought this was a good book. Just moved a spot slow. I was anticipating the same gait as Gone Girl, so I was a small defeated when it moved at a difference velocity. However, still a good read! It 's easy to read and maintain acquiring more and more interesting. By the halfway point I was truly into it. Original narrative and a good enigma Another interesting premiss with a turn, but the supporter was much less sympathetic. The stoping of this was choppier for me. ( Review abruptly - read old ages ago. ) I 'm giving this book four stars because the authorship is good done. But I do n't cognize if I 'd really urge it... it 's a really cheerless narrative. I guess I should hold expected that seen as it was written by the writer of Gone Girl. Good. Ending a small rushed. Too much clip constructing up enigma. character development was good, as I read, the stoping was non excessively surprising. This book is non for the light hearted who ever expect a good result decidedly a page Turner and a enigma with a skittish type read. Boring at first, but gets interesting through the book. Glad I finished the book! This was a quick-paced thriller, but the kids are the creepy characters and I did n't care for that. Will non be able to set this book down Good but really dark Creepy and uneven chief character. Overall this book was good written and fascinating but earnestly f***ed up. It moved really good though until the terminal which was rushed and excessively compendious. After reading two of her books, this miss has one sick head but is a great author. $ 2.99 Dark and good Holy moly- such a heavy book! I was so surprised at the bend of suspects. I do n't wan na give away excessively much but long narrative short, I loved it even though it was dark and distorted. It 's non an easy on the bosom read but it 's a good 1! Personally, I think that Dark Places is Gillian Flynn 's best novel to day of the month ( all you Gone Girl lovers, delight do n't lapidate me ) , but this 1 was n't bad. Very dark and distressing, and on sale for Kindle right now for merely $ 2.99. all in all, it was a good and thrilling narrative but I do n't wish the characters excessively much and the stoping was sort of weak Surprised me merely on the last few pages. The remainder was predictable to a big extent as the narrative unfolded. I 'm afraid Gillian Flynn has set a really high saloon for herself after Gone Girl. Even after all that, it makes a read good read if you 're into dark side of the human nature. This introduction novel by Gone Girls Flynn was really different and a small disturbing. I think I will be chew overing it for a few yearss. This writer ever tackles hard subjects to reflect a limelight on. Graphic. Not for earlier bed Not every bit good as Gone Girl, but pleasantly creepy. Meh.
