Isaac Asimov Presents Great Science Fiction Stories of 1939 Essay

Some of my favourite authoritative short SF Stories in this volume. I didn’t really read this book ; I read it as portion of a combined volume: Isaac Asimov Presents the Golden Old ages of Science Fiction: 36 Narratives and Novellas. But there wasn’t adequate infinite in my reappraisal at that place for all my remarks on the single narratives, so I’m posting them here. Refer to my reappraisal of that book for my ideas on the book as a whole. I, Robot, by Eando Binder: good narrative about human fright of AI. These narratives are Asimov 's and Greenberg 's picks as the best of 1939, which they defined as the first twelvemonth of the aureate age of scientific discipline fiction. It 's difficult to reason with any of their picks, and I think it 's good that they picked a few narratives that were a small more vague than the obvious, celebrated, often-anthologized picks. My favourites in this book are the Van Vogt, both of the De Camps, and the C.L. Moore. Good historical material here!
